description

A long planter wall is drawn first as a line model, then as a solid, then as a stepped section, and is finally built in stone in a Las Vegas park. The wall wraps a bed of desert trees and succulents and folds at one end into a low seat.

The stone arrives as quarry blocks and is cut to shape on a wire saw. The faces keep the ridged texture of the cut, and the folds of the plan return as facets on the wall. Seen close, the tooling lines run with the geometry. Seen across the plaza, the wall reads as a single cut stone.
